We Are Genre Agnostic
One of SoundRise's founding ideas was to help people discover the extraordinary diversity of music that exists - not just across India, but around the world. Whether it's Sunday morning jazz under the open sky, an intimate mehfil celebrating Sufi and ghazal traditions, soulful singer-songwriters, indie rock, folk, classical, global sounds or high-energy sundowners, every concept is designed around the music itself. We don't believe audiences should be defined by genre. We believe great music deserves to be heard, regardless of style, language or tradition.

Every SoundRise event is unique, so artist compensation varies depending on the concept, venue, audience size and format.

Our journey began with free community concerts in public parks. These shows remain free to attend, and audiences are encouraged to contribute directly to the artists. We make a conscious effort to educate our audiences about supporting independent musicians, and we're incredibly proud that the SoundRise community consistently shows up with generosity. These direct contributions continue to be an important part of our free park concerts.

For ticketed events, artists are paid a fixed performance fee agreed upon in advance.
